Some unfortunate news coming from the Inputs.io camp today. ‘The most secure wallet ever created,’ as it is stated on their website has found themselves hacked, losing about 4100 BTC of user funds (that’s over one million US dollars).
According to Inputs.io, “the attacker compromised the hosting account through compromising email accounts (some very old, and without phone numbers attached, so it was easy to reset). The attacker was able to bypass 2FA [2-factor-authentication] due to a flaw on the server host side.”
The incident is unfortunate, and is certainly infuriating for users of the service.
“I know this doesn’t mean much, but I’m sorry, and saying that I’m very sad that this happened is an understatement,” it says on Inputs.io’s homepage at this time.
More information as it becomes available.
