How many Bitcoin-only businesses are out there that you know about? Chances are not many, because it seems like the vast majority of businesses that do accept Bitcoin also accept traditional currencies.
This morning, whilst on my daily round on the Bitcoin subreddit, I came across a new business that sells Persian Shoes from Iran and only accepts Bitcoins (given the location, I can’t say I’m entirely surprised). According to the site, the reason they’re only accepting Bitcoin relates to the fact that they’re selling leather goods from Iran, and many payment processors simply won’t touch them (likely politically-related).
“Before launching this website, our international sale has been limited to a few dedicated customers who knew about the quality of our products and were prepared to go through a lot of trouble to pay us!”
But it seems that through the power of Bitcoin, customers from around the world can purchase quality Persian Shoes with minimal hassle.
“With Bitcoin and the help of Bitcoin community we are hoping to become a role model for other small businesses in Iran to find global customers,” it says on the company’s website.
